    I don’t understand Obama care. Our system in Australia is quite good, even if it’s not as good as it used to be. What I’ve heard about Obama care is that it’s (was) out of control and not affordable, which defeats the original purpose. Is that right?

      It required that everyone take part, however, it still had insurance companies that increased the rates. The idea was if everyone gave into the system healthy and sick alike, cost would come down because the younger, healthier persons would pay for the sickest. The problem is only the sickest tale healthcare and the youngest/healthiest would just go without. Costs keep going up.

    I hear and agree with your frustration and concern for the change in direction. I can’t shake the sense that the motto for our current direction on so many fronts, whether you are a minority, an immigrant, or ill/potentially ill is: “Leave the unfit behind.”

    The consequences to this uncaring approach may very well be dissasterous.
